I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley. I also have been an instructor of Mathematics and Philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the University of Miami. Although my research has primarily focused on the philosophy of mathematics and logic, my academic interests span diverse areas, such as the philosophy of technology (teaching Social and Ethical Issues in Computing has been one of my most rewarding educational experiences), metaphysics and the philosophy of language. My academic work aims to find the balance between the characteristic structure of formal reasoning and the sensitivity of philosophical intuition.

As for my non-academic interests, I love, rock, coffee, Star Trek and my cat. I have been constantly involved in politics, always trying to promote an open debate that allows for diverse ideas and always receptive to learning more about human (and non-human) conduct. 🖖
